It's a dead city that bored the hell out of me :) Thankfully, I was only there for business. The people are nice; the city is clean and efficient, as you would expect from Denmark. Perhaps more exploring would be good, and in the summer or spring, visiting beach areas may be more pleasant.

Very nice small sea town with nice architecture, a beach to have a walk, a port and a ferry connection to Fano island , which is a MUST
For cheaper food I would recommend street market almost at the market square Chinese takeaway was delicious
The beach is quite a walk from the centre

The shopping is excellent with plenty of choice.
The shopping is excellent with plenty of choice. There is a good selection of places to eat. All the Danish people we met were very helpful, friendly and polite - a credit to their nation.
Esbjerg is very well signposted for the walker and driver; we did not use public transport so am unable to comment on this.

Good place to base yourself if you want to visit Wadden Sea National Park or surrounds. Bird watching opportunities and interesting museum on the northern outskirts of town. Also a war grave ceremony from WW2 across the road from the Maritime museum (through the little forest), which includes allied and German graves, and sadly, graves of German refugees who fled to Denmark at the end of the war.

Nice harbour town with brisk west coast weather.
Nice harbour town with brisk west coast weather. Driving in the city was easy, and the town appears relatively clean and well maintained. Would have loved to linger longer and explore activities at the harbour.

A fantastic town for shopping, eating drinking and meeting people.
Really enjoyed the short break and to have eaten at two places suggested for evening meals, La Bamba’s Mexican restaurant and Det Arabiske Køkken. Both places are cosy, comfortable with friendly staff, serving veggie/vegan food and now come highly recommended by myself.
Small but quiet room with all facilities you need incl. a small bathroom but big enough to have a shower. Plenty do to use . Excellent location close to the small market square , food market, a supermarket ,bus stops ,station, a shopping centre and a ferry.
Beach with Man meets the sea 45 minute walk but 15 minutes by bus that stops next to the hotel
Plus thank you staff for being able to check in earlier and have a nap after the journey.
As you started this subject with a breakfast example, I did not like it either. It was a voucher for a free breakfast (up to the specified amount) in the establishment of the Hotel BB neighbourhood. Coincidentally, I booked the accommodation for a Saturday (the last day of my stay in Denmark), but Sundays are the days when this establishment is closed. Some rain started, therefore I left Denmark with no breakfast.
Location is excellent as the Hotel Britannia is in the main square. Close to train, bus & ferry. Lovely breakfast and restaurant. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The highlight was the exceptional service from Mia who greeted me at reception and explained everything throughly, also offering great tips of places to see locally. She is a huge asset to the hotel.
Friendly host, easy check in and good communication. The garden is nice to chill. Besides the passage of people during the night, the location is very good and really close to all the restaurants, bars, etc....
Bathrooms were outside of the rooms, very spacious and comfortable. It is also nice that guests can use the kitchen.
We enjoyed our last night in Denmark here!
This felt just like home and the owner was super cool, welcoming and helpful and at the same time I had my privacy. I prefer Sweethome Guesthouse to any hotel experience. The rooms (and the house) were really clean and nice and all needed facilities were available. Can recommend it as the best place I ever booked via booking.com
Very nice and modern hotel.
Had everything I needed and that little more thanks to the staff.
All kind and noting was too much bother, particularly Patricia (I think)
I didnt quite catch her name, but she was excellent with me, very polite especially when heating up my pita breads ha... thank you 😊
The breakfast is good, properly served and completed by the personnel (breakfast buffet type ) but it is not extraordinary. A decent one! The location, on the other hand, is very good, in the city center, a few hundred meters from the city's central square, where festivals, concerts, etc. take place.
spacious room, comfortable bed. our room had a private bath. fairly close to the center of town. nice bathroom, ample towels. mini-fridge, stovetop, cookware, dishes all included. WiFi worked great. host was very helpful recommending restaurants. very quick to respond through the Booking.com app.
It was so lovely, tasteful flowers everywhere, friendly reception, very nice breakfast available. Easy to go north or south by bus or walking.
It is walkable from the station, but best to catch bus, no. 12 or others, ask driver for 'Swimming Stadion Denmark'stop, and look for big waterslide.
We couldn’t stay in the house because the house was dirty .Nobody clean the house before we came. The smell inside was horrible. We spoken about that on the telephone with call centre and told them that we took some pictures and we will leave the house. We went to a hotel instead.
I liked the atmosphere in the hotel and the design.
Nice large TV and the system in the hotel.
Also small unique touches here and there were nice and noticable.
Balcony was big and nice, beautiful view.
Balcony furniture stayed in place in windy conditions and practical.
A really good hotel. Located within walking distance to the city center and the harbor. Breakfast was good. I used the hotel parking, and the system works really well. All in all a good hotel to stay at for business or for a holiday in Esbjerg.
The stay in a nice hotel in a quiet location
The room was clean and sufficiently equipped. The kitchen is accessible for all and well-equipped.
Breakfasts were good and nutritious
The host was nice and very helpful.
I RECOMMEND
Very kind personnel. Breakfast included for a good price. Small parking area behind the hotel where parking is for free. Hotel is located on nice street in the center. Soluble coffee and cattle available in the rooms.
Loved the location of the hotel, despite the wild weather. Plenty fresh air on the seafront! The food was excellent on both nights we stayed, the seafood taster menu was all delicious, recommended.
The location is perfect. The rooms are lovely and give you a true nostalgia gel for a Danish Badehotel. The staff are friendly, the food delicious. Truly a wonderful experience.
